Last of the Elm Trees

November 07, 2004

Mediums: Back and White Film 400 Speed

This used to an enormous Elm Tree that grew in our yard. It survived multiple Elm Blights which finished all of the other nearby elms. But, eventually this one succumbed too. It was 80ft tall when it died. For safety reasons, the majority of the tree had to be cut off, but this section of the trunk still stands as a monument to a giant.
