Media: Ink, Marker, Colored Pencil on Bristol Board

I received an email just before Christmas asking me to do a commission that would essentially be a remake of "Phoenix Rising" in traditional media. It was intended to be a gift for the customer's husband. There were many cool things about getting this commission, but one of the most interesting parts is that doing a remake of an older piece is always an interesting way to see how one's skills and style have changed.

I am extremely happy with how this one came out, espeically considering the two-day rush job to finish it. While I knew it wouldn't come out exactly like the first "Phoenix Rising", since there are a lot of digital effects I simply do not know how to replicate in traditional media yet, I think I still maintained the feel of the original piece.
