Media: Ink, Marker, Colored Pencil on Bristol Board

Bored, sleep-deprived, and giddy at my table at Otakon 2007, I was drawing "example" custom-badges. I did a series of very silly Azumanga Daioh badges, and one of them was Osaka flying with Chiyo's pigtails with the caption "I'm sad that I'm flying". The original badge I drew as bought on the last day of the con by a young man who seemed to think pairing Azumanga with a Strong Sad reference was the greatest thing ever. But I loved the joke so much, I turned it into a larger, finished piece.

As one commenter at DeviantArt put it "What's better than an inside reference? Two inside references!"

I certainly thought so.
