Medium: India Ink

This is something I have been working on for the Selvasfarran Beastiary (under construction)

Originally, this was going to be a full-color piece. But, I liked the way my original pencil sketch looked so much that I decided to recreate it in ink using the set of grey brush-tip india ink pens I bought a while back.

It was a bit different for me to work with them since I'm used to inking using fine-tip inking nibs, so I'm used to seeing nice, sharp lineart. Seeing such "soft" lines on my artwork is kind of strange to me.

Although I know there are some mistakes in here, and although I know my scanner eats lighter shades of grey (there is scale and feather detail in the second coil that you can't see in the scan) I'm pretty happy with it and it was fun.
